Another bump in the road
We are so excited for the house but it seems like it may never be ready!
Unfortunately, that may be true. We were told on Wednesday that we may not be able to move in until November or December now...that will seriously hurt our plans to have Thanksgiving for almost 40 people. When we signed the paperwork in December we were told that our house would be built in 6-8 months, so we had planned (on a worse case scenario) that we would move in right as school was starting in August. August came and went and we are still in our 650 square foot apartment. When August didn't work out we were told that we would be able to move in by the middle of October. We were okay with that, even though it would be in the middle of the semester, because that would still give us a week to paint and move in before our apartment lease ended on October 31st. Now...the latter half of September is slipping by and we are up in the air as to when we will get in. I spoke to the Superintendent of our community and he said no matter what our close date is, he will have our house ready by the "target date" of October 15th. How disappointing. We will survive (I hope) in our little apartment with our 5 animals for a while longer, but we are really disappointed not to be able to have our first Thanksgiving for both of our families in our new house.
